The Venue

A meeting of two countries, France and Ireland, came together at the stunning Fischer’s Baslow Hall. An award winning restaurant and country house hotel standing on the edge of Baslow, a picturesque village in Derbyshire.

A Stunning Location

Both Katie & Kevin wanted a very low key & intimate approach to their wedding photography. They preferred that their day would run smoothly. With key moments captured as naturally as possible. Having planned an outdoor ceremony, we waited for the rain that had been forecast. The venue were amazing in reassuring Katie that timings could be altered. This really helped keep morning bridal prep calm.

A Relaxed Bridal Prep

My day started with some location shots before heading into bridal prep as they were just finishing up breakfast. Onto a variety of detail shots. Katie was extremely organised. She had all the items in wicker baskets ready for me to arrange. And of course candid getting ready pictures in between as the morning unfolded.

A Garden Ceremony

A few trips down to the groom to check on progress there and it was time for the ceremony.

The flower girls came first. Then Katie walked down the stunning garden aisle with her Dad beside her to a string quartet playing softly. Setting the scene for an intimate ceremony with their children free to just be themselves. And onto the official signing of the register and the recessional walk back down the aisle as husband & wife.

Family Groups & Confetti

Then it was time for a whole group photo with the stunning hall in the background followed by confetti and a few family groups.

Time for Portraits & Candids

A relaxed drink’s reception allowed for candids and the couple took 5-10 minutes here and there to sneak away for some relaxed portraits. It really allowed them time to enjoy being with their guests without disrupting their day too much.
